JJ Bailey has been singing since childhood, emulating the country and blues singers she heard coming out of the family stereo.

Her father is an enthusiastic guitar player, and her inspiration for picking up the guitar. A lack of singing teachers in her home town during her youth meant that JJ found her own style of singing.  Only at 19 did she have any formal coaching in the area.

Today JJ plays in a duo with her brother, called The Bay Leaves. A mix of powerful vocals, sizzling electric and smooth acoustic guitar. You can find some of the songs off their debut album "Men Who Chase The Mirage" on the MUSIC page. JJ's trip back to Colorado, USA, was the inspiration for the cover art and title track of the album.

You can catch JJ Bailey playing solo in cafes and at festivals, or see her busking regularly around Melbourne near Degraves Street or along South Bank.
